Mobhunter’s posted a bit of outrage at the idea that our tax dollars were used to investigate the possibility of terrorists using MMO’s to coordinate an attack.
While the idea may seem a bit absurd, and I’m usually one to have great fun picking on such things, the anger is a bit misplaced.

Pardon the mess. I’m tinkering with a new site design and having great fun breaking wordpress over and over. I’m working off a heavily-modified version of a wordpress theme called “notepad chaos” and I have to say, it’s living up to its name.
Don’t get me wrong– the original theme was great. It’s the chaos I added that’s currently tying up my time.
Still A lot to do- still quite a few artifacts to erase, but hopefully by the end of this weekend, It’ll be done.

City of Heroes started trickling out information on Issue 13: “Architect” and I’m already chomping at the bit. The title is a reference to one of the core components in this update: a mission/story editor that allows players to create their own adventures in the City of Heroes game and share them.
It’s been over two years since I posted my rant on “the missing gamer” (the DM/storyteller). Well, tatteredpage has indeed been dead for a while. Been busy- new job, two screenshot comics for City of Heroes events, and a great deal of activity behind the scenes.
A new look is on the way- and a bit of a new purpose. I’ll still use this venue to occasionally discuss my thoughts on games and design, but… well, it’ll be obvious soon enough.

I’d delayed this post until I had some time to write something more engaging, but I got caught up in the “spirit of the season (revised)” (read: mad frantic running from place to place in a desperate attempt to get things accomplished) and never had the time to craft anything notable.
I’m going back to the old (true) spirit of the season now. The one that focuses on the people around the tree, not the presents under it. The one that makes us smile a little more as we give a holiday greeting to strangers as we pass. The one that makes me feel like a kid all over again. The one that makes me feel better about myself and humanity.
May you have a Merry Christmas, a happy New Year,
and may that Christmas feeling remain with you every day of this new year to come.
